Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for joining us at Dance Jam. We look forward to spending an exciting few days with you and your dancer(s). We know this will be a great experience for all the dancers and a wonderful show for the audience. Dance Jam is designed for all levels of dancers, from beginner to advanced. There is even a category for Future Jammers, where five-year-old dancers are encouraged to perform and shine.

We have provided the following information to help you have the best Dance Jam experience possible. There will be Dance Jam staff at the theatre to assist you with any questions you may have.

Is there an admission fee for the audience?

There is a $5.00 daily admission fee for the audience. Dancers get in free.

Can I take photos or video?

There is no photographing or videotaping allowed in the theatre by audience members. This is to ensure the safety of your children and the protection of choreography. A professional photographer and videographer will be at Dance Jam with photographs and videos available for purchase.

Where do I park?

There is ample free parking at the Dow Centennial Centre.

Are there programs available?

Programs are sold for $7.00 each.

Is there a rehearsal area?

The soccer field in the Dow Centennial Centre is used as the rehearsal area for Dance Jam performers.

Are there assigned dressing rooms?

No. We do not assign particular dressing rooms to each studio as we want all dressing rooms used whenever possible. If we assign rooms, it could leave one room empty while another is over crowded with dancers, depending on the scheduling for the day.

What time does the theatre open?

The theatre lobby will open one hour prior to the start time of the event each day.

Is there food available at the theatre?

There is a Booster Juice at the east end of the Dow Centennial Centre.

When and how long is the Dance Jam Showcase?

The showcase will take place on Sunday April 27th at approximately 6:30 pm and lasts for approximately one hour.

How often is adjudication and awards?

Adjudication and awards sessions take place approximately every sixty to seventy five minutes. They bring a lot off fun with an onstage beach party.
